To the beat of a different drum

A lone figure lurched up the winding road toward the house, that squat upon the hill like a vile beast of prey. Rain knifed through the darkness beating a tattoo of sound upon the ground below. Lighting flashed across the night sky as thunder ripped the night apart with it's sound. The young boy left a weaving trail of blood behind him as he grimly pushed onto the house with one intent imbedded upon his mind before his death.
